Important Notice

READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING: This policy governs all returns and refunds for products purchased from Alt Way In. By placing an order, you explicitly agree to these terms. Due to the perishable nature of coffee products, this policy is intentionally restrictive to maintain product quality and business viability.

Shipping policy: Once an order is placed, delivery will take up to 7 business days to the provided address.

Return Policy If you receive a damaged product, you must return it within 2 days of delivery to be eligible for a refund

Refund Policy: Once your refund request is approved, the amount will be credited to your bank account within 7-10 business days.

General Policy Statement

Alt Way In maintains a STRICT NO-RETURN POLICY for most situations. Returns are accepted only under exceptional circumstances as outlined below. Customer satisfaction through quality products is our priority, not liberal return policies.

Return Eligibility – VERY LIMITED

Returns are ONLY accepted if ALL of the following conditions are met:

1. Time Limit

  • Return request must be initiated within 48 HOURS of delivery
  • Physical return must be completed within 72 HOURS of delivery
  • NO EXCEPTIONS will be made for any delay beyond these timelines

2. Product Condition Requirements

  • Products must be COMPLETELY UNOPENED and SEALED in original packaging
  • No signs of tampering, damage, or use
  • All original labels, seals, and packaging materials must be intact
  • Products showing any signs of opening or resealing will be REJECTED

3. Eligible Return Reasons (ONLY)

  • Manufacturing defect (with photographic evidence)
  • Wrong product sent (verified against order details)
  • Damaged during transit (with delivery photos as proof)
  • Expired product delivered (beyond best-before date at time of delivery)

NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS – NO EXCEPTIONS

The following items are PERMANENTLY NON-RETURNABLE:

  • Bulk orders (orders above ₹5,000 or more than 2kg of coffee)
  • Custom blends or personalized products
  • Opened or unsealed packages (even partially)
  • Ground coffee (all ground coffee is final sale)
  • Sale/clearance items (marked as final sale)
  • Gift cards or vouchers
  • Subscription orders (recurring deliveries)
  • International orders (except for manufacturing defects)

Return Process – Customer Responsibility

Step 1: Contact Requirement

  • Email info@altway.in within 48 hours with:
    • Order number
    • Detailed reason for return
    • Clear photographs of the issue
    • Proof of delivery timestamp

Step 2: Return Authorization

  • NO RETURNS will be accepted without prior authorization
  • Return authorisation valid for 24 HOURS ONLY
  • Unauthorized returns will be REJECTED AND DISPOSED

Step 3: Return Shipping

  • Customer bears ALL return shipping costs
  • For international orders: Customer pays full international return shipping charges
  • Products must be shipped with tracking and insurance
  • Alt Way In will not accept responsibility for products lost during return transit

Refund Terms

Refund Timeline

  • 7-14 business days after we receive and inspect returned items
  • Inspection period: Up to 5 business days
  • NO REFUNDS for products failing our inspection criteria

Refund Amount Calculation

Original Product Cost MINUS:

  • Original shipping charges (NON-REFUNDABLE)
  • Return shipping costs (deducted from refund)
  • Handling and inspection fee: ₹100 per item
  • Restocking fee: 15% of product value
  • Any applicable packaging or processing charges

Refund Method

  • Online payments: Refunded to original payment method
  • Cash on Delivery: Bank transfer only (customer provides bank details)
  • International orders: Refunded in INR only, customer bears currency conversion charges

Quality Issues – LIMITED LIABILITY

Manufacturing Defects

  • Must be reported within 24 HOURS of delivery
  • Photographic evidence required
  • Replacement offered ONLY IF defect is verified
  • Our decision on manufacturing defects is FINAL

Taste/Preference Issues

  • NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS for taste preferences
  • Coffee flavor profiles are subjective
  • We do not guarantee satisfaction with taste
  • Sample packs available for first-time customers

International Orders

Return Conditions

  • Returns accepted ONLY for manufacturing defects
  • Customer pays FULL INTERNATIONAL RETURN SHIPPING costs
  • Customs duties and taxes are NON-REFUNDABLE
  • Return shipping typically costs more than original product value

Import/Export Compliance

  • Customer responsible for all import/export documentation
  • Alt Way In not liable for customs seizures or delays
  • Returns rejected by customs are customer’s responsibility

Damaged in Transit

Reporting Requirement

  • Must be reported IMMEDIATELY upon delivery
  • Photographs of packaging and product required
  • Delivery person’s signature/acknowledgment needed
  • Claims must be filed within 2 HOURS of delivery

Liability Limitation

  • Our liability limited to REPLACEMENT ONLY
  • No compensation for inconvenience or consequential losses
  • Maximum liability: Original product cost only

Order Cancellation Policy

Before Dispatch

  • Cancellation allowed within 2 HOURS of order placement
  • Cancellation fee: ₹50 per order
  • Payment gateway charges NON-REFUNDABLE

After Dispatch

  • NO CANCELLATIONS allowed once order is dispatched
  • Customer must accept delivery or forfeit entire amount
  • Refused deliveries are treated as customer cancellation

Bulk Order Policy – NO RETURNS

Definition of Bulk Orders

  • Orders above ₹5,000 in value
  • Orders containing more than 2kg of coffee products
  • B2B or commercial orders
  • Subscription orders

Bulk Order Terms

  • ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS
  • Quality guarantee limited to replacement for manufacturing defects only
  • All sales are FINAL
  • Special pricing reflects no-return policy

Exceptions and Final Decisions

Management Discretion

  • All return decisions are at SOLE DISCRETION of Alt Way In management
  • Our quality assessment is FINAL AND BINDING
  • We reserve the right to refuse any return request

No Dispute Resolution

  • Return policy decisions are NOT SUBJECT TO DISPUTE
  • Legal remedies limited to Consumer Protection Act provisions
  • No arbitration or mediation for return policy matters

By placing an order, you confirm:

  • You have read and understood this restrictive return policy
  • You accept the risk of taste preferences and product satisfaction
  • You agree to bear all return shipping costs
  • You acknowledge that most purchases are FINAL SALE
